Pattaya
offers tourists a great many family friendly attractions that are well
worth visiting, and although attractions such as Walking Street are a
main draw to the city for many, there are many other great
places to visit, making Pattaya a great place to visit for a family
holiday. Some of our favourite things to do in Pattaya include the Elephant Jungle Sanctuary Pattaya, the Sanctuary of Truth, Nong
Nooch Tropical Gardens, Art in Paradise, Pattaya Floating Market,
Million Stone Park Crocodile Farm and the scenic tropical island of Koh
Larn to name a few!
You can also find large modern shopping malls, including the impressive Central Festival Hall, an abundance of street markets, several large cinemas, paintball, bungee jumping, go-karting, several water parks, world class health facilities and an abundance of beaches. There are many sporting events held in Pattaya, including an annual women's tennis ATP, international yachting events and a PGA event. Pattaya boasts several world class golf courses as well as a large Thai boxing arena, and numerous water sports can be enjoyed at Pattaya or Jomtien Beaches, including scuba diving, deep sea fishing, jet skiing and banana boating.

Art in Paradise
Art in Paradise is a unique 3-D interactive art experience that you will want to get involved in. The art has been cleverly painted on walls/ceiling/floors, to give a three-dimensional impression, and when photographed with the art it looks like you are part of the scene. Adults and children alike have a lot of fun here and can enjoy all aspects.
There are many themes to explore including classic art, safari, Thailand, fantasy, dinosaur and aqua to name a few. Here are some of our pictures from the gallery:
A point to note is
that, like with many places in Thailand, you will need to leave your
shoes with the reception and explore inside barefoot, as is customary.
Pattaya Floating Market
Pattaya Floating Market is a popular tourist attraction offering over 100 outlets set on a lake, offering a variety of goods from unique ethnic products, such as sculptures, Thai silks and silverware, to food, clothes and souvenirs.
The shops are located on jetties and housed in traditional Thai-style buildings giving the area an authentic feel, and are connected via bridges. There are restaurants, food stalls and cafes offering a range of regional Thai dishes, as well as small floating kitchens.
There are a range of cultural activities and shows to experience, including traditional Thai massages, a water boxing shows and a cultural Thai dance show on the floating stage which demonstrates the four regions of the country. Boat rides around the market are available, which are worth purchasing to see the market the scenic way!
Amphibian boat rides are also available - a short tour around the lake then over-ground to a tour through some scenic grounds to wander through; here you get the opportunity to try on some traditional Thai clothes for photo opportunities, a tour detailing some traditional and historical aspects of Thai life, a herb garden, the opportunity to sample some unusual (but tasty) drinks, experience a herbal Thai massage, and a monkey show. You can even have the opportunity to take a zip wire over the lake at the main market!
Wat Phra Yai Temple - The Big Buddha
Wat Phra Yai Temple - featuring The Big Buddha statue, which is the largest Buddha statue in the region at 18 meters tall. Located at the top of Pratumnak Hill a visit here will also offer you lovely views over Pattaya. The entrance to the temple complex is via an ornate staircase featuring golden dragons and seven-headed snakes. At the top you can see the Wat Phra Yai Temple, where locals come to pray; the Big Buddha; the pavilion hall; and several other statues of Buddha figures in different stances, which represent the days of the week - a special relevance in Thailand is placed upon the day of the week that you were born with the unique Buddha posture which is revered. Entrance to the temple complex is free, but donations can be made.
